CANBERRA, Australia (AP) — Relatives and a friend of Israelis kidnapped and killed by Hamas visited Australia’s Parliament House on Tuesday, sharing personal stories in an effort to lobby for international support for all hostages to be freed — and to support Israel’s war effort. The group of five will meet political leaders during a two-day visit in Canberra. They are also expected to share their experiences with members of the community in Sydney and Melbourne during a weeklong Australian trip.“Our aim first is to get the hostages back, all of them,” Elad Levy, 49, told reporters outside the Parliament House. Levy’s niece, Roni Eshel, was a 19-year-old soldier initially thought kidnapped during Hamas’ Oct. 7 incursion into Israel but confirmed dead weeks later.“Our second aim is to get the support of the Australian people and the Australian government … for Israel’s actions in wiping out Hamas and in our military actions right now to eradicate Hamas,” Levy added.Austral...Bears outlast Vikings 12-10 on 4th field goal by Santos after 4 interceptions of Dobbs

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Cairo Santos made a 30-yard field goal for Chicago with 10 seconds left, his fourth of the game after a miss on the opening drive, and the Bears had four interceptions of Joshua Dobbs in a defense-dominated 12-10 victory over the Minnesota Vikings on Monday night.Justin Fields lost two fumbles in the fourth quarter, but with excellent protection on third-and-10 near midfield he hit D.J. Moore for 36 yards to put the Bears at the 13 with 55 seconds left. They drained the clock to set up the winning kick and stop a 12-game losing streak against NFC North opponents — including six in a row against the Vikings.Moore had 11 catches for 114 yards for the Bears (4-8), who managed to win without a touchdown on the strength of a smothering performance by their defense. Dobbs threw the go-ahead score to T.J. Hockenson with 5:54 left, but after the second fumble by Fields the Vikings stalled out and immediately had to punt. When Bears cornerback Kyler Gordon made a diving gra...1 man injured in North York shooting, suspects sought

ST. LOUIS – There are growing safety concerns about a deep hole with exposed electric wires next to a sidewalk right outside a south St. Louis business.A car crash took out a streetlight at the location in the 2900 block of Gravois Avenue in November 2021. FOX 2 has learned the City of St. Louis has allowed the danger to continue. For most of the time since then, the hole has been covered with a partially broken orange traffic barrel.“The streetlight hole opens up into what appears to be a cavern or void of some kind underneath the street right here,” said Terry Prott, whose wood-stripping business is adjacent to the hole. “Somebody needs to fill that hole before somebody gets really hurt in a serious accident. You can only imagine how bad it could be if it goes in the wrong direction.”Prott and his customers park on the curb near the hole. The barrel is unsecured. A wind gust knocked it from its base as Prott spoke with FOX 2’s Andy Banker on Monday.A couple of times a week, Prott s...St. Charles County bill against welcoming immigrants fails to pass

ARNOLD, Mo. – Results for an Arnold woman and double amputee who couldn’t get transportation to her scheduled medical appointments.Viva Shermesser was supposed to have government-paid medical transport for her visits, but for nine straight days, that transportation never showed up, and Shermesser missed each appointment.“Literally, I have to go see my doctors for all my issues and I can’t get there,” she said. “I had to wait six weeks to get my staples out. My nurse wanted to take them out. Because they just stood me up nine times in a row. Stood me up to go to the doctor. It was ridiculous.”After running into one road block after another, Shermesser turned to FOX 2’s You Paid For It team for help. Close Thanks for signing up! Watch for us in your inbox. The St. Louis Cardinals made their biggest splash yet in an attempt to revamp their lackluster rotation, agreeing with AL Cy Young runner-up Sonny Gray on a $75 million, three-year contract Monday to anchor their staff heading into next season.Gray's deal includes a $30 million team option for 2027 with a $5 million buyout, which could make the agreement worth $100 million over four seasons.John Mozeliak, the Cardinals' president of baseball operations, already had signed free agent right-handers Kyle Gibson and Lance Lynn to one-year deals. But Mozeliak also said the Cardinals were not at “the finish line,” and a week later, they have one of the best pitchers on the free-agent market at the front of their rotation.“We were hoping to sign a couple of pitchers we knew we could count on for innings,” Mozeliak said, “and if we could accomplish that, we were hoping we could do something a little bigger, a little longer, and obviously that's where Sonny fits in.”The 34-year-old Gray went...Cyber Monday inside the Hazelwood Amazon facility

HAZELWOOD, Mo. – The most wonderful time of the year is one of the busiest times of the year inside Amazon’s Hazelwood Sortation Center. Despite handling double its usual volume with double its usual workforce, site leader Pat Wilkins says it’s business as usual.“We train our associates in safety, quality, and then everything else follows as we move our packages towards the customer,” he said. “And that’s why you don’t see the chaos most people think is at Amazon. We’re practiced and we’re professionals.”Wilkins showed us the life of a package from the time it enters until it exits the facility.“Packages come in, we safely move them across the building,” he said. “That scan bar here denotes where it’ll be dropped off based on timing, from the time it gets scanned here out to the linear sorter drop-off areas that are off to your right behind you.”Wilkins says each container will go to U.S. Postal Service locations within 200 miles of the Hazelwood warehouse.
