While shoppers across the U.S. consider the Friday after Thanksgiving Black Friday, plumbers call it "Brown Friday."So, what is Brown Friday? Sounds gross, right? Well, it is, but not for the reasons you would expect. For plumbers, the day after Thanksgiving is their busiest day of the year due to the increased amount of house calls regarding clogged drains and broken garbage disposals - and, despite its moniker, not clogged toilets.More food cooked on Thanksgiving equates to more waste, which guests don’t always dispose of correctly. Here are a few tips for Thanksgiving hosts this year to help you avoid calling a plumber on Brown Friday.Don’t throw all waste down garbage disposalsSome guests can treat a garbage disposal as an extra trash can. Experts warn against throwing waste down a drain that can’t be liquified. Doing so can overheat the blades or cause them to die.Hosts should remind their guests to throw extra food peelings into the trash can, not the garbage disposal, or have ...Ohio voters just passed abortion protections. ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates (AP) — Formula One sprint races are set to be held before qualifying for the main Grand Prix race starting next season, after a proposal to change to the format was approved on Friday. The decision to tweak the weekend schedule was reached following discussions with the F1 commission at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. The commission includes governing body FIA, the teams and commercial rights holder F1.“The commission gave overall support for an update to the sprint format for 2024,” the FIA said in a statement. “A final proposal will be presented to the F1 commission for the first meeting of 2024.”Weekends that included a sprint race have previously seen qualifying for the main Grand Prix race held on Friday instead of the usual Saturday.
